Dr. Zhang Wei from the University of New South Wales in Australia visited the College of Communication Engineering for academic exchanges

Recently, Dr. Wei Zhang (IEEE Fellow) from the University of New South Wales, Australia was invited to our college for academic exchanges. More than 100 representatives faculties from the college participated in related activities.

 

On June 23rd, Dr. Wei Zhang delivered an academic report entitled “Energy Harvesting Communications with Limited Feedback”, introducing the strategic significance of energy harvesting in today’s communication systems and the latest research results, the online discrete rate of fading channel and power adaptive energy harvesting strategy and other contents to our teachers and students. At the meeting, he answered the questions raised by students and teachers patiently and in detail, and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions. Rounds of warm applause can be heard from time to time on the scene, showing a warm atmosphere. After the meeting, Dr. Zhang Wei had a discussion with the teacher representatives of the college, answering questions relating to scientific research, publication of papers and how to guide and supervise graduate students. On June 24th, Dr. Zhang Wei interacted with 20 third-year undergraduates from the 2015 Excellence Group of the Department of Communication Engineering of the College.

 

The key talent introduction projects are designed to introduce high-level foreign experts around key disciplines, key development areas, major talent training programs, etc., which are listed in the Notice on Submitting the 2015 Employment Plan for Foreign Cultural and Educational Experts of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs. The key talent introduction project “Research on Frontier Technologies of Wireless Communication” applied by our college was approved, and Dr Wei. Zhang from the University of New South Wales, Australia, who was invited this time, is the foreign expert introduced in the project. By inviting internationally renowned scholars to visit our college for academic exchanges, we aim to expand the research and innovation capabilities of our college, step up the development of frontier disciplines, promote the cultivation of innovative talents, and contribute to the construction of the college.
