The year 2015 marked the 70th anniversary of the victories of Anti-Japanese War of the Chinese people and the World Anti-Fascist War. In order to promote patriotism, cultivate and practice socialist core values and raise national pride and confidence of the faculty, the College Party Committee and the university trade union organized a movie appreciation for the anti-Japanese film Hundred Regiments Offensive which commemorated the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Anti-Japanese War on the afternoon of September 2.
The movie was set in the most difficult period of world's anti-fascist battlefield in 1940. CPC, the New Fourth Army and the Eighth Route Army under CPC’s leadership stood up to defeat the argument that China would be subjugated, and expressed their resolution to bring hope to the world anti-fascist battlefield and to strike a blow at the Japanese army. After bold and meticulous planning and hard fighting, they won the Hundred Regiments Offensive.
In the theater, the faculty watched the movie with great attention, raging at the brutalities of the Japanese army while respecting the heroes who took death calmly. After the movie appreciation, all participants said that to the painful past, we must remember; to today's happiness, we must cherish; to the future of peaceful development, we must strive to be strong.
