Jilin University’s 70th Anniversary Celebration Series of Academic Events - Queen’s University Teaching Exchange Week Series of Academic Events, Academic Reports on Communication field of CCE

On the morning of May 26, Dr. Scott Yam, Associate Professor at Queen’s University (QU), gave an academic report on “Collaborative Opportunities in Photonics Research at Queen’s University” at College of Communication Engineering (CCE). This event is an important part of the Teaching Exchange Week for QU and Jilin University. The report was hosted by Professor Zhao Xiaohui, Dean of CCE, and more than 100 faculties and students attended this academic exchange event.

 

Dr. Scott Yam firstly briefed CCE faculty and students on the history of QU and the status quo of the engineering disciplines, followed by an overview of the current research in optical communication. Finally, Dr. Scott Yam gave a lecture on “Reducing the Complexity of Nonlinearity Pre-compensation Using Symmetric EDC and Pulse Shaping”, which was highly received by the faculty and students.
