In order to promote communication among students, enrich their extracurricular life, and give full play to peer support and growth, the College of Communication Engineering held this series of psychological sharing activities “Listen to Your Heart, Warm Your Heart” in November, 2022, which was guided by the Student Mental Health Guidance Center. The activity was organized by peer psychological counselors of CCE, Chen Siyu (postgraduate) and Kang Yumeng (undergraduate), and many postgraduates and undergraduates also participated in the activity.

Firstly, the “Express and Listen” exchange activity was carried out. Through online and offline publicity, it guided students to moderately talk about their worries, listen to others, and try their best to solve others problems and support them. After that, students were encouraged to write down encouragement for themselves, appreciation for others, or complaints about life on the sharing tree hole arranged in the lobby of the first teaching building, using pen and paper as a medium to convey warmth and strength. Finally, a lottery was initiated among the participants, and the prizes were distributed, which fully stimulated the students’ enthusiasm.

During the activity, the students actively participated. Some expressed their blessings to others, shared their mottos, wrote short-term goals, or showed their graffiti, while others told themselves and others to learn to adjust mindset and bravely face difficulties through the sharing tree hole. Those sticky notes carried CCE students’ thoughts and became a bridge for students to share and communicate.

This activity aims to provide a platform for students to express themselves and listen to others, and help them release stress and negative feelings. During the activity, the students encouraged each other, gained support, and enhanced self-confidence, fully recognizing the importance of maintaining a positive attitude. In the future, the students will gain energy from each other and face challenges in school and life with optimism.
