In order to deepen the implementation of the “grassroot party development year” activity that is part of the strive for excellence campaign, closely centering around the distinct theme of “ building a robust party with increased vitality to welcome the 18th CPC National Congress through striving for excellence”, the Electrical Engineering Party Branch strictly complied with the specific requirements of “solid implementation, full coverage, concrete effectiveness, welcomed by the people”, continued to expand on party building at the local level, and actively promoted the work of the College. One such example is the “seminar on experience sharing from teachers returning from oversea exchanges”, which is co-organized by the Electrical Engineering Department Party Branch and the Department’s administrative office, and hosted by the Party Branch Secretary (or Secretary of the Department Council) Liu Bin.

Four teachers from said department, Liu Mingshan, Lin Hongbo, Hu Fengye, and Li Juan gave wonderful talks on their experience as an overseas exchange teacher. They went to great length and detail on their studying, research, work and living situations, especially the invaluable lessons from their visit, the fore-front knowledge of the field, and enlightenment from academic dialogues with peers from home and abroad. The speakers held nothing back, and further offered advice to teachers who are about to embark on the similar journey based on their own positions.

After the sharing session, Director of the Electrical Engineering Department, Chen Wanzhong, delivered the summary statement. He also raised new demands to further innovate and improve the management of the Department, deepen the coordination and exchanges between young and middle-aged teachers, strive to form a cohesive Department culture, and comprehensively roll out the teaching and research work.
